" PETALING JAYA: Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim has denied criticisms by some PAS delegates that the Pakatan Rakyat coalition is not doing enough to promote Islam.
He said Muslims had a collective responsibility to be proactive and that he was doing his part to promote Islam in the state.
Khalid was responding to the PAS delegates attending a special seminar on Saturday. They had voiced concern that the PKR-PAS-DAP coalition might not augur well for the propagation of Islam.
This comes in the wake of several controversies involving Selangor PAS chief and exco member Datuk Dr Hasan Ali and the state government in recent times.
Besides protesting the sale of beer in Muslim majority areas and locking horns with his DAP counterpart Ronnie Liu, Dr Hasan had also created a furore by accusing Selangor’s Select Committee for Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) of bullying civil servants at its inquiry.
This earned him the ire of Speaker Teng Chang Khim, also from the DAP. Khalid told the PAS delegates to “walk the talk.”
“If you want to be a leader, people have to accept you as a leader,” he said.
“It is not merely about you wanting others to say that you are a leader.”
In an immediate reaction, Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad said the opinions voiced by some party members in the seminar did not represent the view of the majority.
“There are always the sceptics as PAS is a broad-based organisation,” he said.
“However, the resolution passed reflected the majority support for the Pakatan coalition.” Khalid Samad said these sceptics sometimes made “silly” statements, and they were the ones who were the least authorised and knowledgeable.
“They are completely in the dark,” he said. “Forget the voices in the dark. They should be ignored,” he said. "

Ada 2 perkara menarik mengenai pandangan pemimpin PR selangor mengenai Seminar Memperkasa Parti yang Pas anjurkan minggu lalu.
Pertama, Khalid MB minta pemimpin PAS cakap serupa bikin. "Walk the Talk" kata Khalid kepada pemimpin Pas.
Khalid juga perli pemimpin Pas, kalau nak jadi pemimpin biar kita jadi pemimpin yang diterima orang.
Celupar betul Khalid MB ini belasah pemimpin Pas. Yang pastinya dibelasah bagaimana pun Pimpinan Pas akan buat dek saja. Bak kata orang muda, pemimpin Pas mana ada T_ _ _ _. Mereka berceramah boleh ler ! Ceramah cuma trafik sehala. Mana ada soal jawab dalam ceramah Pas.
Apa pun, yang disebut oleh Khalid itu ada kebenaran nya. Memang dia dah tak sebulu dengan Hassan Ali, dah lama dah. Itu sebabnya banyak 'function' Hassan Ali dia ambil alih.
Keduanya pandangan Khalid MP Shah Alam, ini lagi syok.
Khalid kata pandangan mereka yang berseminar itu adalah pandangan mereka yang berada didalam kegelapan. Lupakan mereka yang berada dalam kegelapan itu. Wow lagi celupar mulut MP Pas membelasah perwakilan yang berucap berapi-apa masa seminar itu.
Nampaknya MP Shah Alam langsung tidak mengiktiraf perwakilan Pas ini. Dia melautkan pandangan akar umbi Pas. Dia kata mereka langsung tak 'relevant', mereka berada dalam kegelapan !
Mendabik dada betul Khalid ini, al maklumkan dah jadi Yang Berhormat. Sebelum jadi yang berhormat, tak de pulak perangai Khalid macam ini. Bila jadi yang berhormat rupanya dia lupa kawan dan pengundi malah pandangan akar umbi Pas pun di anggap 'karut' dan 'irrelevant'.
Kuasa oh kuasa, besar peranan kuasa rupanya. Kuasa boleh mengubah pandangan dan persepsi, semata-mata apabila sudah berkuasa. Sama saja rupanya, penggal pertama jadi YB dia akan sombong dan bongkak. Penggal kedua dia jadi YB, pastinya dia akan bolot segala kekayaan dan hasil mahsul yang ada.
